special exhibition, MARILYN MONROE: Life as a Legend, and then work from a
nude model set in a romantic '50s context to create mixed media art with a
variety of materials including oil pastel, acrylics, charcoal, and more.
Fees: $100 members, $115 non-members. Participants supply materials. A list
of materials will be sent with confirmation.

MIXING IT UP: POP ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Instructor: Rachel Ann Dennis
American Pop art of the '60s is best remembered for its appropriation of
mass media and its irreverent attitude towards the traditional use of art
materials, thus coining the term "mixed media." Pop artists of then and now
see the '50s, a time of idealized American life, as inspiration for their art. Using
your own photograph, create a mixed media painting with silk screening,
photo transfer, collage and acrylic paint.
Fees: $35 members, $45
non-members.
All materials included.
