Vectren Just Jazz Series takes place the first Thursday of each month February through November, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Shaw Gothic Cloister. Admission is FREE for museum members, and $6 for non-members.

The Randy Villars Quartet

“Spontaneous”, “provocative”, “bold” and “soulful” are just a few of the terms used to describe the sound of classically trained jazz saxophonist and pianist Randy Villars. Join Villars and his Quartet as they explore jazz through steady melodies and soulful style.

Kick ‘N Flava

One of Dayton’s original favorites joins the lineup for September’s Vectren Just Jazz show. Come out and see Jerry Hawes, David Matthews and the rest of the gang heat up the museum with their energizing songs and smooth vocals.

Rolando Matias

This self-taught, multi-talented musician will really heat up October’s Just Jazz with a passionate percussion performance. Let the playful grooves of Matias’ Latin Jazz sound move you all night long!

Khalid Moss: Takin’ the A Train to Heaven,

Tribute to Duke Ellington

Dayton’s hardest working piano man is at it again this November! On the 5th, join Khalid Moss and friends as they pay tribute to the one and only Duke Ellington. Revisit the days of “American Music” and unwind with “the Duke” as the Vectren Just Jazz Series closes for 2009.
